Marana Preservation Case Worker

Overview

The goals of the Marana Preservation program are that more children remain safe at home with their families, children are healthy and thriving and have improved long-term outcomes.  Preservation Case Workers will provide intensive services to at risk families focusing on four core component areas;

  • Family & Parenting Support
  • Child Focused Support
  • Safety & Monitoring
  • Risk Mitigation

The Preservation Marana Caseworker will work with and support families through an evidence-informed delivery approach including mandatory and optional activities across four Core Component areas.

  1. Demonstrate your previous experience in Aboriginal Family Wellbeing Services, Intensive Family Based Support (IFBS), Preservation or Out of Home Care (Foster Care) sector
  2. Provide evidence of experience working proactively and successfully with clients of all ages, children, youth, adults and elders
  3. Detail your qualifications, minimum requirements are in Tertiary qualifications Cert III or above in Community Services, Child Protection, Social Work or related field. Or demonstrated minimum 5 years’ experience in Child Protection sector
  4. Demonstrate a strong understanding and proven ability to engage with & work within the local Aboriginal Community
  5. Detail your skills as excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  6. Demonstrate your strong written communication and experience preparing evidence based reports
  7. Provide details of strong computer skills including database entry, word processing and Microsoft Office suite of programs
  8. Demonstrate proven ability to manage multiple deadlines
  9. Provide evidence of strong network of professional service providers and agencies, community support facilities, other community groups providing clinical services to families, children and young people
  10. Detail your Working knowledge of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012
