Connecting the Indigenous and non Indigenous communities through shared experiences

Cultural Services

The Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation manages and provides a number of services and special events for the Indigenous and non Indigenous community.

The IAC collaborates with local councils and FaHCSIA to provide a fun day of activities for the Indigenous community to celebrate the National Aboriginal and Islander Day Of Celebrations in July of each year. NAIDOC is a huge event on the Indigenous calendar and is attended by a very large number of Indigenous and non Indigenous families.

NAIDOC day is a cultural event where the community comes together to celebrate Indigenous culture and to showcase the talents of Indigenous bands, performers and community members. NAIDOC is a great opportunity for organisations and government departments to disseminate information relevant to the Indigenous Community.

If your organisation is keen to support the Indigenous community or you have a message to get out to the community then please contact us on 4228 1585 to discuss opportunities for inclusion in the NAIDOC event.

Welcome to Country

The Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation can provide you with respected Aboriginal people that can conduct a Welcome to County for your event. A Welcome to Country is an acknowledgement of the first people of this nation and is a sign of respect for the Aboriginal community. Organisations have a Welcome to Country for special events, training sessions, cultural awareness programs, business openings, new programs, political events and other events. Download theĀ Welcome To Country form or call us on 4228 1585 for more information.
